The Ground Termite is in a sense even worse then the Drywood variety.  Ground Termites live in the soil below your home, and simply eat it from the ground up.  The reason their so destructive is because a huge colony could live under a house, eat it through, and extend it's reach to neighboring homes.  They are also difficult to treat, because the standard Tent Fumigation has no effect on the underlying soil which is where the queen and most of the colony are.

How We Do Soil Treatments

Soil Treatments are preformed before the construction of a new home or addition.  A pest control technician is sent to the job site a shortly before the Cement truck is scheduled to pour the foundation.  Chemical is applied to the soil, and the cement is poured.  This serves as barrier, with treated lumber, and an End Cut treatment done during the final stages of construction, this home may be eligible for up to a twenty year warranty through the chemical company.

Do You Need It Done

Any Doctor or Mother, for that matter, will tell you "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure", and with termites that statement could not be more true.  The best way to protect your house, begins even before construction, with a soil treatment, and then making sure you use treated lumber.
