The Drywood Termite causes millions of dollars in damage to structures every year.  They are an invisible threat to your property, because by the time you know they are there it is possibly to late.  Here in Hawaii, with our warm, humid climate, it is truly a Paradise, for termites that is.  On the balmy tropic night with a light breeze, they proliferate themselves throughout homes, neighborhoods, and towns.  When they find a suitable home, they drop their wings and literally move in.

 How We Tent Buildings 

After the Building is prepared, the Fumigators cover the Building with heavy gauge tarps, and create a sealed air tight structure.  Then Vikane gas, which is both Colorless and Odorless, is pumped into the building.  The building remains sealed for at least the next 24 hours, at that point the Fumigators can open the seal and ventilate the building.  A minimum of 4 hours is allowed to lapse before licensed Fumigator can test the air quality and verify that the building is Clear for re-entry.

Do You Need It Done

Any Doctor or Mother, for that matter, will tell you "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure", and with termites that statement could not be more true.  The best way to protect your house, begins even before construction, with a soil treatment, and then making sure you use treated lumber.  Also, if your home has ever been tented for termites it is recommended that you re-tent every  5 years.
